Fake Edit Website Text Using Google Chrome: Go on any site for long enough, and you’ll find a photo of a snarky text or conversation that appears outrageous. It turns out that you’re right-of-centre. Most of them are fake.

You may not be aware that it’s straightforward to alter the text on websites and take a photo of it. There isn’t any fancy software for editing photos also. This article will show how to edit text on a site by using Chrome.

How to Edit Text on a Website

To alter the text on any page, you must first open the page within your browser. We’ll be discussing Chrome here. However, the process is the same in other browsers, too.

When a page is open, right-click the text block you would like to alter and select to inspect (sometimes referred to as an Inspect Element). This will open Chrome’s developer panel that is on the Elements page. If you’re trying to figure out how to change the font using F12, You can press the key F12 to start the identical panel.

You’ll likely see some text in <p>, <div>, or other similar tags depending on the text you’ve selected. Click the arrow next to those tags to expand the section and show the full text.

Double-click or right-click and choose Edit text on the block you want to change. Once you click away or hit Enter, the text will update.

Once you’ve done that, double-click or right-click to select edit to edit the text in the text block you’d like to alter. When you press away or press Enter, the text will change.

You can do this as many times as you’d like to alter the different text. When you hover over tags within the Elements panel, you’ll see the relevant text on the page lit up. It is possible to remove entire blocks by right-clicking and selecting the delete element.

The page will store the changes you made until you refresh the page. You are welcome to capture a photo and then share your hilarious edit however you’d find it.

How to Fake Edit a Website Using Design Mode

If you are a fan of changing the texts on websites, you must be aware of Chrome’s Design Mode. This lets you select any text to modify it instantly without going through HTML.

To access it to use it, hit the critical F12 for Developer Options and then go on the Console tab. After that, type the following text in your console (next to the arrow on the end of any warnings you’ll see) and press Enter:

document.designMode = "on"

Once you have done this, you can click on any text and immediately begin typing to alter the text.

This only applies to the current tab, and you’ll need to repeat this each time you wish to use it. However, if you need to make any modifications to the text of a page and layout, it’s worthwhile.
