What is Easy Anti Cheat?
Easy Anti-Cheat, created by Kamu, is an anti-cheating software designed to stop (and capture) cheaters from Online multiplayer gaming. Consider it an updated version of PunkBuster, the anti-cheating software that first came out in 2001. Easy Anti-Cheat works on Windows as well as macOS.
While playing an online game using EasyAntiCheat is running behind the scenes. As per its advertising documents, EasyAntiCheat is “focused on removing the root reason for cheating based on technology.” Instead of simply prohibiting cheaters, this program is designed to prevent cheaters from even working.
Kamu isn’t able to explain precisely the way EasyAntiCheat is working. Still, the company doesn’t want players to know what they’re against. The marketing materials say it utilizes the “hybrid method driven by driver code and machine-learning.” The Support document indicates it searches for corrupted memory files, unknown game files, system files, debuggers, and other things. When is EasyAntiCheat Active?
The EasyAntiCheat.exe process is only available for games that need it. EasyAntiCheat.exe will not be running as a background if you’re playing no video game.
When you launch a game that uses it–like Fortnite, for example–EasyAntiCheat.exe starts up, it continues to run as you play the game, it shuts down after you quit the game.

Which Games Use It?
Easy Anti-Cheat has become familiar with multiplayer games released over the past few years. Certain games use different methods, like Steam’s integrated Valve Anti-Cheat System (VAC).
