Own a Mac and a PC 2022: Some people see both the Mac or PC platforms as a binary choice and draw the lines of battle in the holy conflict. However, why shouldn’t we enjoy both? Let’s forget about the arguments over platforms and embrace the benefits of being agnostic to platforms.
Get the Best of Both Worlds
Windows PCs and Macs each have each their advantages and disadvantages. If you have both a Mac and PC, you’ll notice the strengths of both complement one another.
For instance, Windows PCs are arguably the best gaming platform due to the vast number of games made available for the platform. Additionally, Macs can run some excellent creative programs that you cannot find on a PC, for instance, Logic Pro for audio editing.
When you combine Mac and PC, it is possible to blend and mix your experience in computing. Some users prefer to program using an IDE on the Windows PC but may also prefer to use Mac applications like Mail to handle their Mail and Photos to handle their online images. It’s okay. If you’re using both platforms, there are both options.
It was until recently simple to use both x86 version of Windows and macOS on a brand-new Mac with Boot Camp and Parallels. At present, if you own an Apple Silicon Mac (which could be a fascinating experience when it comes to speed).
It isn’t able to use Intel Windows in Parallels, which means you’ll need to use the physical Windows laptop to play specific applications.
Not everyone can indeed afford a top-of-the-line Mac or PC. However, if you can use both or switch between the two with different settings, don’t pass up the opportunity to expand your perspectives.

Suppose you’re trying to improve your proficiency in computer use. In that case, it’s an excellent idea to have a broad selection of the most current operating systems for desktop computers.
In February 2022, this means you’ll be operating Windows 11, macOS Monterey, and most likely some variant or combination of Linux and the Chrome operating system. This way, you’ll be prepared for whatever computer-related issues the world could throw at you.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to know as much as possible about the way different platforms deal with different scenarios. This will provide you with an advantage in your career and education.
Tribal Platform Wars Are Counter-Productive
Tech competition is exciting as it helps make computer platforms more efficient. But, you don’t have to decide which side to join in the battle of platforms. It’s okay to appreciate various technology approaches and draw positive aspects from the experiences you’ve had with various platforms.
It’s our human instinct. We are drawn to being with our fellow humans and often prefer to be snobby with people who aren’t part of the group.
Some researchers believe that this behaviour was a way to help the early human race survive in a harsh environment that was determined to consume them. Yet, battling against that instinct has helped us develop large societies and create incredible works across cultures and in tandem.
In specific ways, the Mac and PC discussion is indeed a continuation of this tribalism. Even though we could wish to return to “belonging to an ethnic group” way of life, we also have the option of moving beyond tribal divides for all to benefit everyone.
Your choice of PC or Mac does not make you better or worse than any other. Still, we shouldn’t judge any computer’s preferences as personal.
In contrast to water and oil, which appear incompatible, Mac and PC work well together, similar to jam and peanut butter. Only when you pair them up will you be able to get an in-depth understanding of the way that computers work.
